Been a while since I've had this badboy, oxygen is doing some interesting things to it. So ripe and rich. Never picked up on it before but there's a giant hit of toasted raisin bread much similar to that of hot cross buns coming through nestled in amongst mascherano cherry, spiced plum jam, fig paste, black olive, licorice all sorts, black cherry, leather and tar. There's also a sweet oak note with hints of salted caramel, toffee and mocha. Rich, thick almost fortified-esque in its sludge-like texture, the palate delivers candied raspberry and blackberry jam. Tannins are there but subtle and silky whilst there is still some juicy acid to it. Points for balance, complexity and certainly length.. Served at room temp shows its alcohol, serve at 18°.

Ripe, ruby, juicy; blackberries, blueberries, dark cherries, roses for days, strawberries follow, light lifting spices. Black licorice, cinnamon, clove nutmeg, ripe cherries come on late, beautiful acidity. The finish is a great balanced of ripe fruits, florals with black licorice at the very end. Photos of the grounds.

I remember when this was an "under the radar" bottle. So lush and big. My favorite over the Velvet Glove.

Loved this. Thanks Rivvy! You know who he is...
This does not present as a Shiraz at all. Convicts at their best!

Thank you so much Santa @Martin G Rivard! Love it and cannot wait to try out the Velvet. Deep purplish red, really a tooth stainer. Classic Aussie Shiraz nose with caramel, vanilla, and other baking spices. Undertones of dark fruits and some savory herbs too. Moderate plus tannins (7.5/10) and full bodied for sure. Super rush and dark on the palate. Started off a little tight with a bit of dark fruits, light eucalyptus and anise. After a few hours this baby began to sing with an onslaught of dark berries and bramble berries. Love it! Pretty well rounded especially for having an alcohol content of 16.5%. Definitely built for a decade plus. Will be trying more MollyDooker in the future! Drink till 2032.

You just can't go wrong. Powerful and so impressive. I get whiffs of gingerbread and dusted dark chocolate truffles. Raw and unctuous wine. Mouthfeel is its strong suit, soft and velvety textures abound. Tar, white pepper, grilled sausage, grandmas blackberry cobbler and a hint of eucalyptus. Well defined finish that rolls the tannins in masterfully.
