Clear, medium purple in color; on the nose, it's clean with medium intensity primary and secondary aromas of blackberries, black cherries, lavender, and charred wood; on the palate, it's dry with high acidity, low tannins, high alcohol, medium body, and pronounced primary and secondary flavors of tart cherries, dried herbs, and black pepper with a long finish. This wine is a little too bitter at first, but it mellows out after a bit. Overall, I rate this wine as good. Nellie says it's ok.

Label is tre modern. Color is inky purple. Smells fruity. Maybe a savory streak on the nose. Licorice like. Flavors of berries, cherries and other forest fruits. A but one noted. Fruit and a hint of wood. Plenty of tannins. Things are a bit short and lacking in that density that Barbera can have. This is just a fairly straight Italian red style. Food wine despite its 15% ABV.
