Served double-blind. Ruby red with a translucent core, a very slight watery edge with no signs of particles or gas. Medium-plus viscosity. On the nose, largely red fruits with some brambles, dried herbs, dry earth and some spices leading me to believe that this may see some oak. On the palate, confirmed the red and dark fruits, confirmed the spices along with dried herbs. Probably sees a percentage of new oak mixed with used oak, probably barrique. Loads of acid; almost enamel stripping and firm tannic structure. Fairly long finish. Initial thoughts were Sangiovese. I called 2016 Chianti Classico…wasn’t too far off.

Dark garnet color. Aromas and flavors of black cherry/raspberry with additional hints of mint, dusty earth, dried spices, tar, vanilla and cocoa. Nice long finish and noticeable (but silky) tannin structure. Concentrated and ripe. Aging nicely. Thanks for sharing Ron B!
