Probably the best white Miner produces, the Wild Yeast is very good. Nice combination of bread and vanilla on the nose. A bit more oak than I like, but not overpowering. Nicely balanced with a good finish. Might be more interesting in a couple of years, but not sure if there's sufficient acidity to support a lot more time in the bottle.

Feb 19th, 2017Not a fan off 100% ML, but can appreciate when it's made well. On the nose, popcorn, heavy cream, and lemon custard. On the palate lemon meringue, creme brûlée, and butter finish. Not my preference, but it would pair well with food or if you are looking for a creamy and well balanced Chardonnay!

@MinerFamilyWinery 2012 Wild Yeast Chardonnay: This is a full-bodied and richly fruited Chardonnay with generous texture and very good length of fruit. Orchard, yellow fleshed fruit, and notes of caramel are framed by tones of sweet toasty oak and brown spice. Balancing acidity provides brightness and lift. A delicious Chardonnay, a charming sipper; the type I prefer on its own at cellar temperature.
