Sipping Fine Wine

Duckhorn Wine Company craftef its premiere vintage of its Migration Pinot Noir in 2001. Today winemaker Neil Bernardi carry’s on the flight. Sweet red berry fruit aromas with notes of floral and earth. On the palate fresh cherry, blueberry and raspberry flavors with rich tones, some citrus and spicy oak wrapped in lively acidity. Fine concentrated soft tannins ending with earthy vanilla oak. Competes with pricier wines.

Sweet fruit wrapped around a funky earth core on the nose. Toasted herbs and spices, strawberries, moss, and fresh cut flowers. In the mouth, there’s a certain structure and lushness because it is indeed Russian River Valley fruit, even though this is pretty much an entry level Pinot. More and more fruit on the palate with all the strawberries you’ll want, blueberry cobbler, black cherries, grass, and plenty of oak. Nothing complicated here, just well made and tasty.

Love love love. One of my favorites, a little heavier than some of the lighter ones I drink but not too much. Love this wine with any meal.
