Plum, cranberry, ginger and Christmas spices - this has all the ingredients of a typical, entry-level Russian River Pinot. Not overly complex, but certainly gratifying.

Duckhorn Wine Company craftef its premiere vintage of its Migration Pinot Noir in 2001. Today winemaker Neil Bernardi carry’s on the flight. Sweet red berry fruit aromas with notes of floral and earth. On the palate fresh cherry, blueberry and raspberry flavors with rich tones, some citrus and spicy oak wrapped in lively acidity. Fine concentrated soft tannins ending with earthy vanilla oak. Competes with pricier wines.

Cherry, raspberry, smoke, strawberry, cranberry, mossy earth and oak. Good structure and well-integrated tannins.

A light ruby red color with aromas of red fruit and hints of citrus spice. The 100% Pinot Noir wine was aged for 10 months on French oak, (35% new) before bottling. On the palate, the finished product was medium-body and displayed a predominant focus of red fruit, cherries, perfectly ripe strawberries and red currants. The wine showed polished tannins surrounded by lively acidity and a touch of earthy spices, giving the wine a tremendous balance. Elegant wine at a great price, a real treasure find.
