First of two non-Scholium wines poured by Abe. Wonderful acidity and minerality on the attack, but reticent nose and short finish. It will be interesting to see if the rest of the wine fleshes out down the road.

Diametrically opposed style to Alsace Pinot Gris - a firm, highly acidic and bright experience. Nose: past the initial funk, resembles a speyside whisky, with notes of green apple and toasted millet; palate, plenty of sour green apple, ripe pear, mouthwatering chewy acid with tannin and minerals; finish: warming with star fruit and spices. Coupled greatly with Sichuan food - really harmonizes out the heat, numbing feels into a greater whole.
