I challenge anyone to make a better Chardonnay on the Atlantic Coast. And there it is. Gorgeous, through and through. The Shaps "Wild Meadow" Chardonnay is a Meursault that redefines the Appalachian appellation.

Lovely, minerally Chardonnay. Who knew VA could do this?! We had it with a Spanish fish stew with a touch of Harissa, and it was perfect. Purchased at Cork and Fork in Logan Circle.

I think this is what Chardonnays are meant to taste like. (Says this non-Chardonnay fan) Full of flavor, light on the palate, citrus like and none of that buttery stuff. Someone please tell the rest! Loved it.

Nose has slight oak but doesn't come thru on the tongue. Fruity with peach hints. Easy drinking. No food req'd.

Mineral taste that is good, not too fruity, would like more malolactic fermentation
