Fresh, lively, and delicious. Lacking the iron and earth complexity of native blaufrankisch, but compelling and eminently drinkable in its own right.

Acid lasers up front sink into darker fruits, but the whole package stays lean and focused. Very nice paired with a tomato + veggie lasagna.

I was named for a Saint who was a very wealthy man. He had the wine, the women, the songs, the whole bit, and then inexplicably, took a vow of poverty and became a hermit. Ran off to to live in the forest, in the nude. This is what he's been missing.
