Jun 17th, 2020Very nice aroma. Dry when first opened. Got better later in the evening and better yet the next day. If there’s a sale, can give it another try. Vintage was rubbed off it’s either 2016, 18, or 19

Old vines (80+) Mencia, medium acidity, medium body low in tannins, subtle vanilla sweeter oak tertiary notes from 6 month maturation in French oak, but dried cranberry is the leading theme. Wine is high in alcohol but integration is fine. Maybe lack of finish but 12 euro is a fair price for this smooth red. Paired with slow cooker lamb with quince- what a great pairing! Have a nice weekend.
