The joy of this Syrah was probably to be found in its earlier years. Gushing reviews from 2013 fall way short of where the wine lands now. (But should you like strips of bacon in your glass this Syrah will handsomely satisfy. 🐖)

Initially jammy and sweet with lots of blackberries. After a couple of hours of airing, secondary and more savoury notes take over and the wine improves significantly with nice texture and decent length. It will probably not improve with further cellaring.

Surprised I liked it so much. Good balance, not overwhelming fruit

Nice, but not worth the $30 we paid.

Extremely young. Needs to be decanted for at least 1 hour prior to drinking. With only 20 or so minutes in the decanter the wine had an odd palate.

Drink with food. Spicy as all get out but should steer once-burned Syrah drinkers ever slightly back to the grape.
