Classic St. Rita Hills pinot. Not sure this will evolve much further, but it’s drinking really well right now.

Delicious Sta. Rita Hills Pinot from Melville. Lightly spicy and exotic red fruits with a solid but supple structure and a great finish. Excellent.

This one started off pretty thin and closed, but did it ever open up. Great aromas of spice, rhubarb, and maybe a hint of sour cherry. Palate is beautifully balanced with just enough acidity to support the alcohol. Lingering finish. Probably has a few more years, but I can’t imagine it getting any better. Drink up!

This took about 30min to open up - a lot of VA on the nose initially - but after a while this wine really started to shine. Classic St Rita Hills pinot!

Earthy, tart, and smooth. Once it opens up for 30-45 minutes, it gets even better. Really good juice

Wow. Opened this two days ago. It was stored cool with a cork in it, but no sparging or vac-u-vin. Absolutely fantastic. The wine is showing incredible aromatics of candied strawberries, hints of sour cherry, and a touch of earthiness. The palate is beautifully balanced and exhibits layers of flavor, culminating in a lingering finish. Easily among the top 10 pinots I’ve ever had from Melville. If you have this in the cellar, try opening it and leaving it for a day or two in the fridge with the cork in it. Surprising and awesome!

A nice example of a Melville pinot. Not the top of their line - lacks some of the structure needed to really make the wine sing - but terric primary fruit, a balanced finish, and probably one of the best QPRs you'll find!
