Top Notes For
Sipping Fine Wine

Philippe and Cherie Melka have been creating wines since 1996 with the releases of small production of CJ and Metisse wines. Cab adding some Petit Verdot, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, aged for 18 months in French oak (45% new). Succulent berry aromas with a note of pepper spice. On the palate blackberry flavors with a current undertone, some cacao and bits of cedar. Smooth tannins, great mouthfeel, lingering finish ending with earthy character. A great Cab! Must try!!

Lucky to have a chance to meet and work with Philipe and Cherie Melka and Sylvie the other day. Enjoyed this wine with hangar steak and onions, mushrooms, and broccoli with garlic. Now the wine. Nose has cocoa, black cherry, tobacco, and hints of orange rind and green bell pepper. The palate confirms the nose with a cherry and dark spice. Green tannins support the fruit without being offensive. Actually, a comfort from some of the fruit bombs in Napa Valley. Most enjoyable with a long finish of dark spice, chocolate, and a hint of green pepper. #melkawines

Tried after dinner... Didn't like it at all, either of us.

Plush, a lot of cooked plum fruits, baking/Christmas spice, some green notes, a milkshake wine but definitely not worth the price

Plummy, violet-laden, slightly vegetal nose with hints of spice. Licorice and berry on the palate with stern but not overly aggressive tannins and pepper that lead to a long, tarry finish with delicious blackberry jam. Nice but pricey.
