This is one that needs to blow off the heat. 16% ABV! Nose has leather, warm earth, peppercorns. Blackberry, sour grape skins, cocoa, and that lovely Dry Creek dirt on the palate. Medium finish. Holds up nicely to Italian red sauce dinner!

Sep 28th, 2017Tons of blue and black fruit, but lacks expected alcohol on the nose while its loaded on the palate. There's some leather and very dry qualities from the high tannin and some moderate, mod+ acid to almost balance it. Definitely pepper, my other guess was semi new American oak but it definitely has some noticeable oak to it. Dried blackberries, bluer plum becoming prune.. Would be perfect for foie gras.

May 11th, 2016Spicy and jammy, yet somehow well behaved, even refined. The wild carmelized fruit & spice flavors you want in a Sonoma Zin rolled out in a beautifully organized bouquet. Nice wine!
