Napa Valley Pinot Noir

A slightly browned end to the first whiff. Wood and tobacco and intensity. Not like many Pinot but rich and tasty. Good.

Broad plummy fruit, a slightly feral edge on the nose. A little tired on the edges and clipped on the finish.

Lean and masculine with a pretty tight spine and cool fruit. A whiff of tobacco. Good

85 tight, vivid, little oxidation but entirely still holding on

Shockingly youthful acid. Brightness shines through under relatively restrained secondary notes of dust cedar dried leaves. Savory on the finish.

Bright, singing, still fresh and from '86. It's good to know @Jimmy Hayes.

Birth year wine!

Tasted From a magnum, Tiva’s birthday wine. The color had juuust a little bricking to the edges and the cork was very vinegary, but the wine after a few hours really opened up and became amazing. Nose is amazingly still fruit forward and velvety for a 30yo wine, with slight hints of tar, plum, and somewhat musty forest floor. The acid is still there after all these years, with a freshness that’s surprising and just a hint of tannin. Fantastic for its age, and such a special, under the radar Wine!
