Mayacamas Vineyards
Napa Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Gorgeous mountain fruit. Was the Pauillac to the Martha’s Margaux. Great bottle of this wine, perfectly stored.

Jan 15th, 2019Needs decanting. Lovely, classic Mayacamas, even though not from a notable vintage. Fulsome and rich.

Sep 4th, 2016Still sound and likely better with food but losing a little steam, cooked plum and earthy. Quite a treat to see how these wines age...especially in an off vintage.

Jun 27th, 2015A stunning wine. Darker color than the '70. More plum-like. Soft rich fruit with nice dusty tannins. Great balance and texture. Nearly perfect wine.

Aug 19th, 2018Paris 1971! The famous US versus France tasting this is one of the wines! Quite dark red with a tinge of brown. Tons of sediment. Blueberry pie and all spice on the nose. Amazing amount of tannins for a wine which is 45 years old! Surprisingly fresh. In the glass wood notes, cedar planks and forest berries. Very much alive and amazing a pinnacle of California excellence.
