Mm mm. Grapey, rustic nose almost like Ripasso or Amarone. Palate has a gorgeous balance of tannin, funk, spice, dried acidic fruit, and dirt. The only components out of whack are the acid and alcohol. Hard to tell which is which, but a pummeling acidity and heat corrupt an otherwise complex mid palate.

Had another bottle, great wine. Deep Ruby with red berry fruit aromas and pleasant spice. A blend of Sangiovese (70%), Cabernet Sauvignon & Cabernet Franc (20%) & Merlot (10%). On the palate cherry and strawberry with sweet spice, cacao and tobacco notes. Well balanced with acidity, fine tannins, lingering finish ending with earthy mineral notes. Very Nice. Consistent.

Dec 30th, 2017Good Carmignano blend, but overrated on Delectable . Some nice deep red fruit to start, but finish is way off. No comparison to a Chianti or Super Tuscan. Mediocre wine but not expensive.

Similar to Brunello, but lighter and a mouthfeel closer to a Pinot Noir. Very soft tannins on the finish.

Ripe, bright cherries on the initial pour. With time in the glass this mellowed out into a rich, earthy, fruit-forward wine. Paired quite well with pizza and a bit of spice.
