Pipeño Secano Interior Yumbel País

Brett again! I find this a lot with these younger generation winemaker wines, sadly the price is too much for the what the wine is worth.

Wild stuff. Tasty. Bloody.

Into this - inexpensive everyday bottle. Weird smell tho (could be my bottle) almost.. latexy? Blackberries, liquorice, very slight smokiness and minerality

Funk to the nose and petillance in the glass. Bags of blackcurrant and very potable. Second bottle at noble rot soho, again a value pick in the depths of the wine list.

A touch funky. Fruity. A little earthy.

Very cloudy pipeño (stuff floating in it) from organically farmed País/Mission, from old vineyards in Yumbel, Bio Bio region. Fermented in traditional open top lagar with no sulphur and aged in old pipas (barrels) and clay amphorae. Fresh, almost like fruit punch, rather flat.

My notes were erased. Basically: unsweetened lemonade, whole lemons puréed and pithy, some iron and blood. The nose has acetone, maybe some candied flowers. It would be fine to drink cold and fast, if it didn’t cost $24 per bottle. I think the more I drink these types of wine the more they grate on me.

Finishing up my organic wine. Origin looks special but just not my cup of tea

First bottle of this was undrinkable. Color had turned and was cloudy with large visible floating chunks of god knows what. Good thing I gave a second bottle a chance.
