Appropriate wine to welcome in the Spring. Watermelon rind, lemon/grapefruit oils, underlying herbaceous notes, with a moderate acid backbone. The 11.5% is a plus (but the wine really shines when paired with food)

Mar 24th, 2019A pale pink rose pedal meets lavender experience. A few years old produced an effervescence on the finish, which was medium acidity and light in body.

Sep 8th, 2018Pale peach in color. Muted aromas of peach and orange peel. Nice fruit and acidity on the palate accompanied by stony minerality. Made from a combination of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Counoise from the Windmill vineyard in the Dunnigan Hills of Yolo County, Syrah from the Hurley Vineyard in Napa Valley, and Grenache from the Gibson Ranch in the McDowell Valley of Mendocino County. Whole cluster pressed then fermented and aged on the lees in stainless steel without malolactic fermentation. Very quaffable at only 11.2%. $24.

Sep 2nd, 2018The Matthiasson was another standout this week as was spending time with my youngest daughter. Very low alcohol but subtle punch. White peach and wild strawberry. So smooth and fresh it almost glides over your taste buds.

Jul 21st, 2018I know I’m supposed to like this more than I do. Crisp, refreshing, just not terribly complex.
