Winninger Brückstück Riesling

Big, aromatic, ripe and yeasty nose. Loads of herbs and lanolin. A richness is there. Palate has zippy acids, loads of minerals and a playful intensity with terrific flavor authority. Very pure and persistent. Elegant with wonderful texture and nice complexity.

I adore this vineyard and am so happy to be selling it. Until this bottling never had any except Knebel. Stunning nose. Full of lower model opulence and minerality plus the bruckstuck funk. Yellow fruits and flowers abound along with a striking herbal element. Unreal nose. Palate is dense and chewy but light as a feather with perfectly judged opulence. Amazing acidity and so complex. Balanced and extraordinarily long and textured. Stunningly purity and grip. Wow.

Herbs, spice, fall apple. Very different style but excellent. I don’t know that I would hold this for long term but I’m as likely to be wrong than correct about that.

Needs an hour decant at least at this point. My guess is it needs 2 years to really strut its stuff. A baby Hercules. Incredible coiled power at this point. You can feel it more than taste it. Incredible spice. Lemon pith. Mineral. Petrol. Really saturates the palate. Hints of green Apple but mere hints. Has a weight like Kellers hubacker but more restrained. Almost like really really great meursault. A new Star is born. Stock up.

Rain stopped. Sun came out. Great moment for an angular, vibrant, taught Riesling with great balance between clear, mineral-driven fruit and lively acid.
