Margheria Serralunga d'Alba Barolo Nebbiolo
This 15 year old Barolo is still drinking very nicely.
Pretty color and medium in body with medium acidity.
Showing red fruits with earth, wood, spices, peppercorn, chocolates, tobacco, graphite and dark coffee.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
A Delicious wine. Complex and interesting.
92 points.
14% alcohol by volume.

A gorgeous wine, bright beautiful Barolo. Tobacco leather and earth fill the nose but plenty of fruit and soft tannins match with some super luscious fruit. First ever 98point Barolo that I am close to agreeing on.

Jun 16th, 2019Rose petal, dried cherry, kirsch, mint, sage and licorice give the 2014 Barolo Margheria much of its beguiling, nuanced personality. Deceptive in its midweight structure, it packs a serious punch. The sinewy, potent Serralunga tannins need time to soften a bit, but I don't think that will be an issue given how impeccably balanced the 2014 is in the early going. A bit of air brings out the wine's explosive persistence and drive. A closing flourish of sage, tobacco and kirsch rounds things out in style. The only open question is how much time the 2014 needs, because it is clearly a gorgeous wine in the making. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, February 2019)
