Popped and poured; consumed over three days. Best on Day 1. On the pop and pour, fresh ripe cherries with dried earth, roses and a sweet touch of baking spice. Good structure with tannins in the medium+ category; acid I would place at medium. On Day 2…the wine entered a sort of dumb phase. Structure was there but the fruit sort of became…unexciting. On Day 3 it was again transformed; more enjoyable with the fruit more interesting and an added desiccated characteristics to it. Leans a bit modern. A good wine but I’m unsure I like this more than the “classico”, to be honest. Drinking well now and will probably be enjoyable for the next 5-10 years…but not sure it’s worth waiting that long.

Macerated cherries, menthol, old leather, warm gravel on the nose. The palate is broad and shows quite a bit of tannin spreading out. Since it’s from the hot 2011 vintage, I’m thinking this is peaking and will only get scorchier and more leathery as it ages. Very nice now though.

V aromatic after it opened up. Beautiful med modied balance. Nice acidity running through spine. Strawberry cherry fruit some spice. Nice acid kick at the end.

I liked this better than my wife did. Mid-weight, modern-styled, red-fruited Barbaresco that is surprisingly open for business despite its youth. Not one to hold for the longer term, I think.

Leather, plum and raisins... took a solid hour to open up to full potential. Rusty like brick red color. Love that aged wine.
