Against all my principles. I think Italians should have Italian grapes. But, this is truly outstanding, the smoothness of mature merlot and still the color has barely faded after 17 years. My one and only bottle.

A challenging vintage for Masseto and much of Tuscany with too much sun and heat much of the crop was lost. The vintner debated bottling it only changing their minds at the last minute. Initially met with mixed reviews over time it has aged gracefully displaying high tones and mature fruit. It's hard to find but if you do give it a taste. Cheers ๐ท
