Too much Cab Franc in the mix. Reminds me of a musty basement.

Richer and more integrated than the last time I had his. The Syrah still provides a meatiness and rusticity to the wine. But now the cab franc and merlot show through with more fruit.

Most I've ever enjoyed this. I think it's the food pairing. Thai chicken pizza.

Brownish rusty color. On the palate - leather, spices, notes of liquorice and dark fruit.

Second bottle I've had. More enjoyable this time around. Still quite vegetal and meaty. Round tannin, light acidity and smooth finish. After an hour, showing some soft fruit tasting like it was picked from the middle of a forest.

Vegetal on opening. Has a bit of a meatiness and funk, and reminds me of a cote roti Syrah. The fruit profile doesn't come through at first, but with air there start to show some dark and sour fruit.
