Nose is dense with ripe mixed berries and plum juice, dark crushed rock, and a musky note. It’s broad and massive in the mouth. A deep ripe whack of dark berry fruit initially, but then it turns blocky and hot as the finish progresses. Low acids and a substantial helping of tannin. Another example of how global warming is doing the Southern Rhône no favors. It’ll be fine with tacos on this cool, damp spring evening, but nothing to write home about.
