Rías Baixas Albariño

Pale lemon color with stone, citrus and tropical fruit aromas and herb floral scents. On the palate flavors of apples, grapefruit and pear with lemon citrus and chalky notes. Good balance with pleasant lively acidity, medium+ finish ending crisp with mineral, citrus, floral and wet stone nuances.

Finally! A nice day with no humidity to sit outside, sipping on this delicious wine before dinner.

Nice, if not a bit plain.

The Martín Códax Winery was founded in 1986 by a group of winegrowers in Cambados, the capital of the Salnés Valle. All grapes are sourced from their own vineyards. Pale yellow color with aromas of white flesh fruit and floral scents. On the palate crisp ripe apple, pear with lemon zest, light spice with vivid acidity. On the medium+ finish, crisp mineral ending with floral spice. Nice value! Tasting Sample.

This wine has a pale yellow color in the glass and has a nose of mellow Meyer lemon and minerals. The palate is mellow as well, with muted citrus, stone fruit and a gentle acidity. It is a tasty wine which should be good with salads. I know it's good with lemony pasta and peas. I put it in the sauce.

Good vanilla and lemon-grapefruit flavors with length plus citrusy acidity in the finish

Clean and fresh- good lemon acidity and more texture and body than some albariños. A hint of gooseberry and green apple. Excellent with a variety of oysters

This wine is refreshing and versatile, light and very slightly sweet. It has apricot and honeysuckle flavors. We matched it with spicy Peruvian rotisserie chicken and spicy braised green beens.

After a long drive from out of town let’s begin the evening! A very nice Albariño, I’ve rated this one before.
