Dark plum and ink. Some fresh green notes (dill?). Very well preserved. Luscious and contained.

Corked. Ugh. But a great bottle with lovely supple fruit. Super bummer

Gorgeous. Soft raspberry fruit, faded wood, black cherry, gentle leather. Haunting around the edges. Delicious

Hard not to think for less than a 10er, you can bump up to the Gran Reserva & more complexity. Still, heart swoons over a mid weight, somewhat delicate touch old school Rioja: red fruited, but the emphasis on tertiary flavors comes through.

Lovely and lush. Soft raspberry edges to the fruit with a plush core. The oak is totally resolved and gives a gentle vanilla hue to it all, then there’s mint and black tea. Beautifully mature and resolved.

Amber edges. A lovely resolved nose packed with secondary notes of plum, gnarly fruit, vanilla. Soft soured cherry, beautiful lush fruit still. Great stuff

Medium ruby red. A touch of vanilla on the nose from the American oak, herbal notes, oaky and dark cherries. Solid acidity with medium tannins (5/10) and light plus to medium bodied. A bit green on the palate with red cherries, dark bitter cocoa and a touch of earth. Better on day two, more integrated and smoother. Medium plus finish. Drink till 2023.

Stinky at first but opening up. Sour cherry, plums, drying oak. Dried herbal notes. Really interesting and delicious. Still in decent shape

Insane value at about $16-20, better than many Gran Reserva Rioja buy a case and forget about it for 10 years. Great birth year wine that's affordable.
