This 2019 Albariño displays high-pitched citrus fruit, quinine and chalky mineral qualities. Lively and precise in the mouth, it shows firm tension to the lime zest, quince and honeysuckle flavors. Takes on a deeper pear note with air and closes long and nervy. A hint of spicy ginger adds bite. $19.00 (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, August 2021)

Glistening straw. Vibrant and precise on the nose, displaying fresh citrus and orchard fruit, floral and mineral scents. Juicy and seamless in texture, offering sappy Meyer lemon and pear flavors and a spicy dash of ginger. Fleshes out with air, picking up a honeydew melon quality that carries through the long, silky finish. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, June 2021)

Peach yellow apple and ripe pear presented with a golden and green hue and a lot of white flowers a hint of vanilla crisp and tart.

Good wine from a good region, nothing particularly special that I can remember although I would like to try again

I was worried about a high volume Spanish house like Marqués de Cáceres producing a Rías Biaxas but this was delicious. A little less saline than I’ve tasted with other examples in this appellation but still refreshing, lemon-lime notes, crisp, low ABV, paired well with a chilled herby shrimp appetizer and BLT + 🍳 sandwich. #albariño #ríasbaixas
