Gold Capsule. I love Markus’ version of this and prefer it to JJ Prum as it’s more reserved and less opulent. Stunning yet subtle nose of green apple, pear and peach plus some apricot notes and vanilla extract. Unreal slate and mineral that is so fine and refined. Just a super perfumed nose. Palate has ridiculous energy and acidity with jaw dropping purity and intense acidity. Racy. Really racy. Palate has terrific peach and green apple fruit. Maybe a skoche honeyed but the mineral/acid spine is just incredible here. Light yet intense and built for the very long haul. Brilliant. Really elegant now with air. Amazing.

This Kabinett from Molitor appears still young in the glass. Grapefruit, lemon zest, a bit of a unripe peach mixed with this typical "Slate component" dominate the nose. I've read that it's scientifically impossible to smell stone but after I drank quite some stuff, especially Riesling from the Mosel, I'm sure that the slate soil gives this wines a special note which for me is quite unique & easy to identify. On the palate the wine is light & transparent. Just like a real Kabi should be. Unfortunately lacks the last tension & punch in the finish and appeals a bit unsettled. Give it some more time. Lovely stony aftertaste.

Beautiful situated vineyard, good year and terrific vintner. This wine has awesome balance, crisp, very fine riesling expression, true to type, lots and lots of pleasure. We partnered it with wild spinach, fried halibut and wild mushrooms.
