Monthly WTF wine group tasting. This month’s theme was chardonnay from any region or vintage. Nice eclectic bunch! All wines tasted blind.

Lots of concentrated fruit here...orange marmalade, poached pears and Meyer lemon on the nose. Rich without being flabby. Just a touch of acidity. It smelled more old world but drank so warm, and I called it at least 14.5ABV which took me back to Cali. Because of the above, it took me to more Napa vs Sonoma. Very enjoyable now. Thanks

Just not my style. Succulent nose yet gives off this bitter element running from the mid palate to the back of grapefruit and pitted stone fruits.

Of the two Chardonnays that Mark makes, this by far is the better one. He sources the fruit from Hudson Vineyards. One of my favorite vineyards for Chardonnay. Nice bottle.

This is a great bottle of wine for the money. Creamy, full bodied and well balanced.

2016 in 9/22. Last vtg he made chard. Was on close out on our whse, rep in town, pulled 1 to try and it was in stellar shape!! Oak and malo not overdone. Even had a partial under ripe note hiding in there but mostly ripe tree fruit. Barely baked aspect. Really in a great place. Sold it all.....better in the AP vs the Rdl Burg. 14.1%
