Tempranillo, carignan and petite syrah collide in a wonderful big wine. Inky purple and a nose of big dark fruits. A very smooth mouthfeel and nice medium finish. Decant to remove some sediment and enjoy!

This is the 100% carignan (there are a lot of things I like about Mark Herold wines, but a pet peeve is their habit of producing different wines with the same name and label), and it's imposing. I've never aged carignan so I don't know how it will do, but this does the trick when you're in the mood for something young and powerful. This would definitely stand up to a steak.

Tad bit hot on the finish. Nice concentration, peppery spice on the palate and Petit Sirah packed the punch.
