Zisola Noto Rosso Red Blend

Notes of cherry, cranberry, black currant, vanilla and baking spices. Full-bodied, dry with high tannin and a long finish. Also was getting blackberry, green Bell Pepper and cigar ash on the palate.

Nice wine, went well with hamburgers from bison and ratatouille

2021 vintage.
To be clear, this is 100 % Nero d’Avola from Noto in south east Sicily…not a blend. 10 months in small oak barrels.
Owned by the Mazzei family in Tuscany.
Dried flowers, sage, wild black berries tobacco and herbs.
Brisk acidity and a saline minerality on the finish.
Very enjoyable with handmade sausages on the grill

🔹 Southern Italy: Mazzei ‘Zisola’ Sicilia Noto Rosso 2014 (Sicilia - Nero D’Avola)

Little expansion of my Sicilian wines. Reminded me of a Nebbiolo with some earthy, mineral tones. Medium tannins and a medium finish.

Under 30 dollars in Korea. What else?

Wonderful. Dried cherries, spices, great body and a smooth finish.

Perfect balance. Medium bodied. Cherries. Light spice. Mild vanilla. Smooth finish. My favorite Sicilian red so far on this Siracusa-Ragusa-Catania trip!

Dried cherries and pine? Eucalyptus? Something like that, I'm coming of a cold so it's hard to tell. Super concentrated flavors.
