Marchesi Antinori
Castello della Sala Umbria Pinot Nero
Umbria IGT 2012, 14.5%. Bottle tasted in September 2014. Pinot Nero grapes aged 8 months in oak barriques, and refined 15 months in the bottle. A beautiful product: very sophisticated and elegant nose. Also great in the mouth, very smooth tannins, long persistence and body. Very well made vine, in my opinion.

Apr 26th, 2015New vintage of Pinot Nero from the 4 hectares of vines at Castello della Sala. The continuity of the exact taste of minerality found in Cervaro della Sala never ceases to amaze me. Elegant, light in color, layered flavors of berries and spice.
