Cornas Syrah

Part of the same generation as Verset, Gentaz and Trollat, Juge is old school Syrah at its finest. These rare bottles can be highly variable but this was the most perfect showing I’ve had from Juge. It’s everything you want from Syrah, vibrantly energetic, brimming with elegance and a wild complexity with earth, spice, wild berries and smoky minerals. Exceptionally balanced and detailed, this is perfect Northern Rhône.

This needs 5 more years. It's all angles today. Very very promising but hide this.

Gorgeous nose! So much going on. Just a baby but a lot of fun. Would love to revisit in a few years.

Far more open then the last time I had this in NYC 4 months ago. A lot cheaper too.

Sadly (for me) the only place I can ever find this wine and drink it.

Marcel Juge 2012 Cornas fruity, no oak, leather, mineral, great pairing with veal

So much going on here. Wow. Amazing. Pepper spice and everything nice!

Old school style Cornas. Man this was showing well with dark red fruits, cured meats, dried herbs, licorice spice and violets. One of the best drinking 12 Cornas that I have tasted. Just amazing wine!

Great Cornas! Lots of meat and spice. Need to buy more.
