Cornas Syrah

I can see the future!

2009. A pleasure to drink. So pure and elegant. Such restraint is impressive from a powerful vintage. Raspberry and plum, smoke, black olive, and black tea. I could drink this all day.

Nose: cranberry. Floral.

Palate: bright. Interesting

Only 13% in a hot year. Bizarre.

Good god. This is some insane juice. A bit reductive at first but blew off and opened up into a real beauty. I'm sure that some more time will only benefit this wine.

Juge just brings things to another level. Not just the best Syrah I've had in a while, one of the best bottles of wine I've had in a while. Just beautiful in its young evolution. Silky, lingering, and impossible to put down.

Spicy, herbs, vegetable

One of those rare occasions when the palate matches the beautiful fragrance. Black pepper, smoked meat, and berries. A meal unto itself.

2012. Honestly just read what Al said about it.

A gift from Jon Fine, gratefully received. Vibrant fruits giving way to menthol eucalyptus, like someone rubbed damson jam and vicks vaporub on your chest.
