Marcassin
Three Sisters Vineyard Pinot Noir
Perfect for omakase sushi night with Chef Tatsu. Grippy orange peels, some cherry fruit, balanced and ready to go. Bravo Helen!

Jun 26th, 2021So glad this “lost” cellar bottle was still in good shape. Candied and lightly stewed cherries, white mushroom, cardamom, cedar forest floor... all integrated, nothing overt. But, this is a big lush 14.9% Pinot ... New World, in a good way. Thanks, Helen.

Dec 15th, 2018WNH event number 3...new world Pinot. Such a treat to experience the many different variations of Pinot!
Older Marcassin pinots...what more can be said other than special. However, I think this one was quite muted on the nose and wasn’t entirely as expected. Age has leaned this out, and the red and black fruits are battling with earth and herbal components. Dirty raspberries and bay leaf on the finish. Even a slightly off bottle of Marcassin is impressive, so thanks for bringing, @David L !

Really nice fruit profile here at 16yrs young! Still powerful in a sense. Stewed raspberries, black cherry, mint and really nice acidity. Older Marcassin pinots are my favorite domestic pinots bar none.

Jul 28th, 2018Impromptu meet up at Classic! Having a relaxing Friday afternoon with good friends and good wine makes for a perfect start to a weekend!
I was only able to enjoy this from pop and pour until about 30mins later when I needed to leave, but as I was leaving, this was full steam ahead drop dead gorgeous! Black cherry, muddled raspberries, cocoa dusted cherries. Clay and herbal complexities on the palate with a finish that brought about some bark/sandalwood. Wonderful!

Ripe deep red cherry, cedar chips, a dash of vanilla and chocolate covered strawberries. Very lush. Not Blue Ridge Slide lush...but lush is lush.

Jul 7th, 2018Right at its peak and drinking exceptionally well. Beautifully integrated. Perfectly evolved. Really really shows what great Pinot can be made in California
