At the 10 year mark sounds right.

I really liked this. It was new world mostly but had a great finish. Tropical, oak present but not overwhelming. Toasted marshmallows.

Rockin. Still one of CA’s top aged Chard producers.

New world. Creamy, slight citrus, lots of marshmallow, coconut, tropical, crème brûlée on the finish big time. Nice.

Weekly Wednesday Wine Committee lunch...always such a treat to attend. This week, Dan hosted. 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds and 1 dessert wine. All blind as usual.

Gosh...I think these Marcassin chards (and pinots) are probably desert island wines. I went back and forth between CdP white or a Chardonnay...I ultimately ended on Chardonnay and said if this is west coast, it could only be Marcassin. Quite a bit of sulfur here to go alongside a rich, butterscotch nose and a full-bodied palate showing smoked hazelnut notes.

This is absolutely ridiculous. One of the best chardonnays I’ve ever had...all have been from Dan! Best nose on a Chardonnay I can remember. Salted popcorn kernels, toasted brioche, sweet caramel. The palate is gorgeously textured...lingers full of savory notes and wet rock. Benchmark Chardonnay.

4th Friday of the month means Classic Wine Storage happy hour! Great wines, as always, today!

These older Marcassins sure are something else. Very savory. More popcorn kernel than buttery popcorn. A saltiness to it. Still showing nicely, but the sweet and citrus style fruit has disappeared. Very nice acidity and the structure/texture is impeccable.
