Nose is showing maturity, lovely lemon curd, wood shavings, wow so complex and mature. Spectacular. Eggs? But the best eggs. So stunning. Concentrated and silky and incredible sap and density. Really elegant and classy. So pure and sappy. Wonderful. Masterful. Outrageous density. Sous bois aromas and so fine and complex and so explosive.

Seashells, petroleum, some oak on the fairly restrained nose. Iodine, lemon curd, confectionary palate, with a delicious quinine bitterness. Real concentration… great bite. Really long finish.

Incredible minerality. Floral, so wafting. Insane perfume. Just stunning. Tree bark. Lime pith. Just gorgeous. Stunningly mineral mouthfeel. Juicy and complex and almost like licking seashells. Fresh and energetic with a hint or richness. Balanced, pure and so well made. Showing so well.

May 9th, 2020First Valmur at Dampt since maybe 2015. Love this Grand Cru. Gorgeously nuanced nose with sea air, salt, pear and apple fruit that is so delicate and covered by intense minerals. So many salty seashells. Complex and concentrated but so so elegant and has tangy, rich complexity on the finish. Amazing fruit set on the palate when you think it’s over but it really just begins. Superbly complex with a mineral explosion and such amazing length and sap. So long. Superb wine that is at once playful and at once very serious.

Valmur. Understated yet concentrated. A really delicious wine. Very gulp able for a wine this complex. Great fruit. Some petrol. Minerality is there in support along with acidity. Great finish. One of those wines you can never have enough of. Bought rom Fass selections.
