Chante - Alouette Hermitage Blanc Marsanne

Golden yellow and very honeyed. Strong honeycomb flavor. A little sweetness, oatmeal, golden liquer. Salty minerals and a satiny texture. Almost like a dessert wine. No worse for wear after 16 years but not enough acid, a little stodgy.

Very good. Maybe lost a step over the past few years but still hanging in there. Marzipan, clove and orange quince on the nose. Not a lot of acid

The first of 4 bottles that hasn't been oxidized. Med yellow. Beeswax, honeysuckle, , floral aromas. Good balance and classic character. Should hang for another few years

2004- sweet and strong, like #KTTunstall @citywinerynyc candied anis, preserved lemon peel, jasmine flower high acidity medium finish

Orange water, stony minerality, pure

Nailed it, and quite happy about that.

Medium lemon yellow colour. Quite waxy , buttery notes , lemon rind, apricot , mineral notes . On the palate quite rounded and rich on the palate but balanced with good acidity and saline notes . Mostly yellow fruits , lemon confit , apricot , peach , beeswax , with buttery but saline , sea spray tinged notes . Balanced alcohol and good length, good to drink now but could evolve and deliver for another 5-10 years. A different experience from the last time I had this wine , no signs of oxidation and overall a wine that shows good balance and that can age further .

Marzipan, honeysuckle and butterscotch.

Quite deep colour , gold with quite wide rim. Quite oxidative , but nice crystallised fruits , roasted almonds , orange peel, touch of candle wax. Quite rich on the palate , nice volume . More of the crystallised fruits , touch of spice . Mineral finish , good acidity .. and quite long on the palate . Interesting and still quite drinkable

High QPR. Has that soapy finish I come to associate with a Rous/Mars blend. Still vibrant.
