Pretty, lots dark and red fruit expressions, orange peel, tea, five spice powder. Little bit of coffee, burnt caramel and earth. Still quite tight with strong tannins. A style of Aglianico that’s a bit more extracted than I prefer. Aromas feel a bit transitional— should be better with more time in bottle.

One of the most elegant Aglianicos out there. Gorgeous nose. Black fruits, tar, spice, almost like good oil, huge minerals, very deep aromas, penetrating but elegant and almost cooling. Palate is ripe, juicy, sauve and deep with super velvety tannins and such purity. Terrific freshness. Such energy and acids. Awesome inner mouth perfumes. Fruit is all black and very tarry and super long. Terrific structure ensures a very long life.

Classic nose. Huge tar, dark black cherry and black berry, gorgeous rusty tin, earthy and very mineral. Super aromatic. Wow. What finesse and elegance. Superb power and concentration but such a light footed wine for Aglianico. So juicy and elegant with amazing purity and sap. Lovely. Big cherry and dark berry on the palate with refinement and ripe and plentiful tannins.

All Aglianico, take note, this is what it should be if made in a classical old school style. Nose is dark, deep and brooding. Black tea, dark blackberry fruit, bramble, floral and such a wonderful wine spectrum of aromas. Truly great. After 1 hour it gets insane. It’s super fresh on the palate with incredible balance and density. Big tannins but fresh and velvety. So pure. So old school. Love it.

An utterly delicious wine.

Blackberries. Licorice. Spice. Great balance.

I had this with sausage and peppers and was not disposed towards a lengthy review given the tastiness of the dish. Having said that, this has some lovely grip. Lilacs appear on the nose. Faint hints of vanilla. I treated this as an unserious wine. But it isn’t.

Similar to my previous note: this is still an infant and needs to breathe - tons of depth here just needs time & patience

Jet black, inky & brooding, dense & tightly wound - this is an infant. Tons of flavors once it opens - among all the various fruit, I really enjoyed the terroir driven elements of soil & Earth, licorice & forest floor, bramble & spice. Great complexity. Chewy tannins, elegantly styled & powerful. Felt like 14% was lowballing it tho… thanks @Lyle Fass

Terrific combination of elegance and power.

Nose is blackberry flower.

Palate is Sleek blackberry fruit. A hint of licorice. Texture is so fine.

Wow. As this opens even silkier. Like this blackberry flower licorice liquid perfume thing. So elegant. That burgundy from Aglianico thing.
