Luis Pato
Vinho Branco Bairrada
Oranges, apricot, fig, toasted hazelnuts and warm spices. Holding up quite nicely for a ‘91, retaining some good acidity. Cork was in excellent shape and come out in one piece.

Jun 13th, 2019If you didn’t know this 1991 was available, you aren’t following SOMMSelect. You should, cause this is beyond comprehension. I’ve had aged Pato reds in Portugal, a benefit of good timing. Nothing more. They were exceptional. This white matches that wow. Submit.

Oct 31st, 2018Waxy, earthy, spice laden nose with subtle citrus peel fruit. Quite vibrant o. Placate if a touch austere to start. Opens with air and warmth. Shows off tangerine, candied lemon peel, fennel seed and waxy flavors. I would have enjoyed a touch more depth. Surprisingly it continues to open with 2 plus hours of air.
