Smokey, meaty, good acid. Still quite harsh, tannic.

Juicy and ripe fruits, herbs, a bit of roast meat on the nose; powerful and intense on the palate, not the typical refined Burgundy, smoky and robust, juicy fruits, cooked herbs.

Too much earth for me. Hard to open

Acidic .....

Bright red fruit nose. More oak than I'd expect but no greenness. Chocolatey but light on its feet. So silky, nonexistent tannin. Structure built on acid

Surprisingly ready to drink. Redcurrant leaves, strawberries, a little stewed fruits in the nose — but the palate remains austere, tannic, tightly controlled

Light rubi robe, nose of flowers, dark cherries and a hint of top soil. Took time on the glass and lots of swirl and we finally got this very elegant, complex, flowery and spicy mid palate with velvety tannins. Its medium bodied and can be deceiving at first, truly top notch as it opens up. Gentle extraction, no excess wood, mineral, balanced. First bottle of Mr Saouma and we are very impressed.
