Although often decent - I found that little red village Burgundies possess the unique elements of their superstar siblings. This one did - albeit in subtle hints, like the silent yet essential intro to a full blown concerto. This was very very good, yet most of all it made me long for a “normal” New Year’s Eve.

Not bad. On the nose: oak toast, wild strawberry, coconut, some spice. Definitely oak dominant. On the palate, good acidity, a touch of woody bitterness, artificial strawberry, coconut, and attenuated tannin on the finish. The oak seems like it is taking over a bit.

Initially, lots of stable on the nose which blew off quite quickly, revealing red fruits and savoury notes. In the mouth, the wine had good weight and balance with a long(ish) finish.

Violets, dense black cherry and brambly berry fruits. Very cordial-like on the nose, becomes more tart on the palate. High fresh acidity and med+ dry tannins shows this wine as so much larger than expected

Lucien le Moine makes Bourgogne? Very good. Don’t forget to decant due to excessive CO2

Superb value. Humble and elegant packed w/ red fruits and fennel aromas. Medium plus finnish. Not too complex.
