A classic, elegant Sancerre, both steely and juicy. Grapefruit, lemon, passion fruit, lime, flint and rather subdued herbaceous aroma and flavors with a bit of cut grass. Long and very clean finish. It’s a wine you definitely want a second glass of.

All prior notes apply. Really good, tilting towards a hint of sweetness at the end. Worth half a case investment. Best enjoyed now.

A very pleasant surprise. Nose presents straw, lemon zest and chalky minerality. The palate is untypically sweet, with toned-down acidity. Mid palate shows gooseberries without the tartness. Finishes soft, but still has focus, albeit somewhat blunted. Certainly idiosyncratic for Sancerre - Jean Georges Nougatine.

Tasted double-blind. The 2018 Lucien Crochet pours a very pale straw color. On the nose, almost imperceptible pyrazines. Instead, the smell of an ocean breeze with a touch of cheesy funk that I find rather attractive. On the palate, there is an undeniable freshness to this wine that is really compelling. Citrus fruits with white pepper. Medium-plus acid. Satisfying finish. Very good!

Medium lemon color, with medium intensity aromas and flavors of lemon, grapefruit, herbs, green apple and wet stone. Medium body, medium finish. Solid but unexciting

Very true to style for Sancerre, clean lemon curd and flinty minerality.
