Louis Roederer
Rosé Brut Champagne Blend
The 5th and final wine at the Louis Roederer dinner last Friday night ( even though I did have a sip of the 2015 Cristal which was stunning ). The host for the evening said this Rose was made in a unique style with whole Pinot Noir berries added to the pressed Chardonnay juice. When the Pinot Noir berries split the must is pressed again. Red fruited but not as strawberries and cream as I was expecting.

Feb 25th, 2024So...I had a birthday a couple weeks back, due to scheduling my regular bottle finishing team wasn't available until now, so we're finally doing it up in my grand, unique style.
Notes possibly...

Needs to sleep and shame on me for opening but this was a WNH virtual tasting and decided to pop open - surprisingly it was better at end of the bottle - little smiles

Apr 7th, 2019Along with the vintage Blanc de Blancs, Roederer vintage rosé is an often overlooked gem in the winery's portfolio. Exceptional focus and balance, vibrant fruit and great depth of flavor are the hallmarks of this dazzling rosé. Great value and immensely satisfying.

Jul 4th, 2017Almost no vintage dated Champagne was made in the very wet, difficult 2011 harvest, this is one of the very few. This all estate grown wine is mostly direct macerated Pinot Noir from Cumieres blended with some North facing Chouilly Chardonnay. While not as concentrated or as lively in acidity as the 2010, this is still lovely rosé!

Jan 13th, 2017Love in a bottle. A distinctive pink salmon hue in the glass. Vivacious and luxurious perlage. At first the nose is shy but after a few moments it begins to blossom. Fresh red fruits are dominant throughout with a touch of nectarine. Rose petals, peaches, and blood oranges. There’s a really nice mint note here, as well.
Composed of 62/38 PN/CH with a dosage of 8 g/l. This is a magnificent champagne. Sexy and romantic, it’s a clear cut above. Nice acidity and terrific structure. Plenty of character and indicative of the house. Finesse and refinement for days.
Silky smooth and enthralling on the tongue. Candied apples and chalk with peaches and pears on the palate. Plenty of citrus and a small touch of mint. The finish is long and gorgeous. A beautiful rosé.
