Louis M. Martini
Special Selection California Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
From magnum, which undoubtably helped with the preservation, still some fruit and tannin structure, old no doubt, but still alive and providing pleasure, old wines are like old people, they may smell a bit and not say a whole lot, but you have to listen tongues and give them respect for still being around.

Nov 11th, 2015Tasted from a low fill bottle and it was more than acceptable. No overt Cabernet flavors but this be because of the redwood fermentation tanks of the era. Anyway fun to drink.

Apr 23rd, 20211970でもブランデー感は弱く酸味、果実味が感じられ、まるで熟成したピノのよう。どうせブランデー化したよくあるカベルネだろうと軽視してたのでビックリ!

Aug 16th, 2015I always say wine tastes best in the vineyard where it grows, especially when it's a legendary bottle like the 1970 Louis Martini Special Selection Cabernet from the historic Monte Rosso Vineyard. Brick red with earthy aromas, loaded with mint and pepper, great acidity, lively and delicious. Absolutely pristine. Not bad for a Tuesday!
