Louis Jadot
Bressandes Beaune 1er Cru Pinot Noir
Confrérie Des Chevaliers du Tastevin Sous-Commanderie d'Albany, Pauleé Dinner; 2 February 2024 at Lake Ridge Restaurant, Round Lake, NY
Red, companion WOTN for me, so lively! I'm really in love with the 1990 vintage.

Nose has mint chocolate, eucalyptus, beef bouillon, blackberry, crushed black cherries, dried strawberries, dried blueberries and faint vanilla bean.
Palate has chocolate covered strawberry, ripe blackberry, black currant, vanilla, clove, dried strawberry and smooth tannins. In such a fine spot this evening; Final bottle.
Slow oxidation 8H, then double-decant for service tonight. (Extended slow ox was definitely the way to go here, best of all prior showings.)

So...I had a birthday a couple weeks back, due to scheduling my regular bottle finishing team wasn't available until now, so we're finally doing it up in my grand, unique style.
Notes possibly tomorrow, scores honestly tonight.
Decanted 10H.
24-Hour Update:
A tad of funk arrived today...
Nose has sauteed red pepper, over-ripe black cherry and dark chocolate powder.
Palate has warmed blackberries, dried strawberry and clove, much much better yesterday.
Drink subsequent bottles in one sitting.

Nose has chalky plum, dark chocolate bar, black cherry, vine smoke, blackberry and wet earth.
Palate has ripe blackberry, black currant, dried strawberry, clove with smooth tannins and a long finish.
I've always adored the Beaune reds (and whites) as beinging somewhat more weighty than most other Burgundy villages, and this bottle is no slouch! Slow oxidation for 2H then decanted 3H, still evolving in our glasses.
Pre-birthday dinner for our dear COVID bubble friend; we've only allowed one of our close friends into the house for almost the past year, tonight we're celebrating that he's one year older than me. 😉

Tonight I have opened the 2009 Louis Jadot Beaune Bressandes Premier Cru. In honor of coming out of the "Stay at Home" policy that has been in place.
On the nose I have found there is strawberry, raspberry, cherry, spice, clove, hibiscus, a nice funk, rose petal and fresh soil.
On the palate there is strawberry, tart cherry, raspberry, cinnamon, clove, hibiscus, light oak rose petal and earth.
This wine is medium bodied with medium acidity and medium fine tannins that lead right into a medium to long tart fruit finish. Please stay safe and healthy. This pandemic will soon be over and we can get back to a normalcy of life. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷
