Wine Nerd Herd Thursday lunch which we like to call Sauvignon Blanc on steroids - the wines are delicious and the friendship is even better - this is usually a get rowdy event with just the gents but mixed it up a little and was a blast and definitely a little slice of Heaven

This was my tie for WOTL - just incredible!!

An amazing sauv blanc. So much flint and chalky minerality. Backed up with almost tropical fruit notes and amazing acidity. A great example of what the grape can produce.

“Minerality” blind tasting: voted overall most mineral, austere, funky at first but it opens up real nicely, most people thought this was Chablis

A special wine. Juicy bright lemons, wet rocks, freshly mown hay. Elegant mouthfeel, almost luxurious. A finish that goes on forever. Gonna be sad this when it's gone.

Many years ago while visiting the Seattle market Didier remarked that, in his opinion, Silex did not come into its own until at least ten years of bottle age. This bottle, a 2001, was lightly honeyed, developed and delicious.
