Sipping Fine Wine

Deep Ruby with aromas of dark berry fruits, oak and spice notes. This 100% Cab Sauv spent 22 months on French Oak. On the palate flavors of blackberry and cherry with a touch of vanilla and pepper. Firm tannins, well balanced and an absolute joy to drink. Small production, tasting well now!

A superb and elegant wine. Two hours to properly open up and then supple and smooth and just seductive flavors hit the palette. Outstanding.

Made by superstar winemaker, Randy Dunn, of Dunn Vineyards, the 2017 ‘Feather’ by Long Shadows is a masterful effort from this exciting warmer vintage in Washington. Once on the nose there is a lovely round core of toasty oak that wraps around the rich dark fruits, sagebrush and chocolate fudge aromatics that all meld in the glass. The palate is silky smooth, revealing a round and generous mouthfeel. The seamless effect created mid-palate is utterly fantastic. Black currants and blackberry cordial dance with shades of Black Forest Cake and espresso bean on this highly complex palate. This finishes long with dark fruits and a beam of minerality. While enticing to savor now, the 2017 ‘Feather’ will have a long life ahead of it. If enjoying in its youth, be sure to afford a two hour decant prior to enjoying. Drink 2021-2040- 95

This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from the Summit View in the Walla Walla Valley as well as Dionysus, Weinbau and Den Hoed Benches Vineyards. Made by legendary winemaker, Randy Dunn, of Dunn Vineyards fame, this reveals dense core, with an inviting nose of crème de cassis, Turkish coffee, red bell pepper, with hints of white pepper and sagebrush. The palate unveils a silky texture and a beautiful mouthfeel. Decadent blueberry compote, mocha, black tea, anise and sagebrush flavors all impress. The gorgeous bright acidity adds to the enjoyment here. Balanced and rich, this stunning wine will cellar well for the next two decades. While it is delicious now, try to resist this for at least two more years. Drink 2020-2040-95

A wonderful tasting put on by Classic Wine Storage featuring Long Shadows Winery. If you aren’t familiar with these wines, they are phenomenal WA state wines that are made by the likes of Randy Dunn, Phillipe Melka, Michel Rolland, John DuVall, and more.

This is the 100% cab done by Randy Dunn. Very perfumed. Great aromatics of violet, blackberry and bing cherries. Cedar and cassis with awesome acidity here. Not Dunn Howell Mtn life in this, but the longest lived one out of the Wines I tried tonight.

Feather is 100% Cabernet. This is made in coordination with Randy Dunn. On the nose, dark, lightly spiced currants. Black oil, loamy soils, black licorice and fresh floral bouquet. On the palate, the mouthfeel is thick & rich. There's a good presence of wood shaving. Rich, ripe blackberries, dark cherries, candied black plum, plum, black raspberries, loamy soils, dark rich moist earth, leather, tobacco, spice-box, nutmeg, clove, cinnamon, vanilla, black licorice, violets and fresh red florals. Acidity is round and mouthwatering. The structure is big. The tension perfect as is the balance of fruit and earth. This is definitely a Parker wine. It's so easy to drink young, yet will cellar 10-15 years nicely. Photos of the tasting rooms hand blown glass lighting...lit up. The Feather artwork and the famous Boushey vineyard in Yakima Valley

100% Cab. Winemaker is Randy Dunn. Drinking very well now but depth lacking now likely will come with age. 92 points.

This is showing beautifully young. The nose is savory with a leather and tobacco quality with some dark berry aromatics. The palate is powerful red currant and plum notes enhanced with a pronounced grip and lengthy finish. One of the best Cabernet examples in Washington. @Delectable Wine this is certainly not from Lodi. It has four entries which should probably be combined.
