I'm just going to say it. This is my favorite Chardonnay made in the U.S.

On that short list of the best chardonnay made in California, period. Maybe the USA. Purity, finesse, concentration.

On day 2 this has evolved to a better place, and may have put on a little weight. In particular, the mid-palette has more weight. Green apples, melon and honey present, similar to a classic burg. For the price, this ranks as one of our best finds in 2016.

Lots of discussion about chards today, got us all twisted up in the game.
Nose is muted and isn't offering up much, besides caramel. Palette is restrained and somewhat delicate. Nice acidity and tension on the mid-palette. Clean, fresh citrus fruits finish delicately sweet. Minerality presents as granite. If this wine comes into contact with oak, it's not perceptible. Strong showing, however, the 13 vintage is a touch better.
